Memorial Bridge Steel

Project Description

The Memorial Steel Easels were originally built for a painter with whom i was collaborating on a show about the destruction and re-construction of the Memorial Bridge in Portsmouth New Hampshire. Both have since been acquired by a collector and included in a permanent installation of outdoor sculpture. The easels were built from a combination of reclaimed steel from the demolition of the Memorial Bridge and new material.  This combination represents the loss of an iconic structure as well as the construction of a new piece in  it's place.
